Beef Australia 2027 runs 2–8 May 2027 at the Rockhampton Showgrounds — the southern hemisphere’s largest beef industry event, and the week Rockhampton sells out completely. Beef 2027 — confirmed dates and venue
2–8 May 2027 (the accommodation booking window per Cityville ops). Rockhampton Showgrounds, New Exhibition Road, Wandal. Held every three years; the 2024 edition drew more than 115,000 attendees across the week and the city books out for a year on either side of the event.

Drive and parking logistics for the Showgrounds
From Cityville: out the gate, west on Stanley Street, north on Lakes Creek Road, in via New Exhibition Road. Under five minutes door-to-gate even with Beef-week traffic. If you’re walking it (12 minutes), pick up Bolsover Street north, then west across to the Showgrounds.
Parking for exhibitors at the Showgrounds is allocated through the event organiser — check your exhibitor pack. For trade visitors, the on-site visitor lots fill fast on Wednesday and Thursday; staying close enough to walk in and out (Cityville is one of the few CBD-based options inside that walking band) removes the parking problem entirely.
Off-street parking at Cityville for exhibitor work vehicles, trailers, and stock transport — ask reception on arrival. Mention towing or oversized vehicle in your booking notes and we’ll point you to the right spot.
Exhibitor and team stays — apartments vs motel rooms
The trade-off most exhibitor teams face is private rooms vs. shared apartments with kitchen and laundry. Cityville offers both on the one site:
- Studio motel rooms — single occupancy, kitchenette (fridge, microwave, kettle/toaster). Best for individual reps. Sleeps 1–2.
- 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments — full kitchens (cooktop, oven, dishwasher, full cookware), in-room laundry on the larger ones. Best for two-, three- or four-person teams sharing — sleep separately, brief and brief over breakfast, cook a team dinner one night a week instead of restaurants every night.
- 4-bedroom apartment and 3 & 4 Bedroom Riverfront Apartments (the latter two with Fitzroy River views, sold separately) — for a complete team plus the boss or a guest visitor.
For a five-night Beef stay the per-person cost of a 3-bedroom apartment usually lands below a comparable bank of single rooms, and the team functions better. Tell us at booking how many people and how much kitchen / laundry you actually want, and we’ll match the room mix to your team.
Booking timeline: what sells out and when
- 12–18 months ahead (now): apartment stock in the Showgrounds catchment thins fast. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights of Beef week go first.
- 6–12 months ahead: motel-room availability tightens; the larger 3- and 4-bedroom apartments are typically gone.
- 3–6 months ahead: pickings are slim. You’re looking at outer-suburb options or 30–45 minutes from the venue.
- Inside 3 months: cancellation roulette. Some stock comes back as plans change — not enough to count on.
If you’re a returning exhibitor, the cleanest move is to lock the same week 12 months early and adjust to your final team count closer in. Most of our Beef regulars do exactly that.
Direct billing for companies
Travellers Group corporate accounts cover all five group properties — one account, one invoice schedule, negotiated rates, recorded preferences. For an exhibitor or industry company that staffs Beef Australia plus rotates teams through other Travellers towns (Bundaberg, Emerald, Dubbo, Orange) during the year, that’s a single procurement relationship instead of five.
Invoice setup. Cost codes, PO references, ABN, GST separation, branch-level cost allocation — all standard. Tell us what your finance system needs and we’ll set the invoice template accordingly.

Which rooms to ask about
Beef week stays are almost always full weeks, so the room types with kitchens and laundries are the ones that matter. Exhibitor teams share 3 Bedroom Apartments or the 4 Bedroom Riverfront Apartment; two colleagues take a 2 Bedroom Apartment; a single delegate takes the 1 Bedroom Apartment. Specify the configuration you need when you enquire rather than the number of people — it makes a material difference to what can be held. All nine types are on the accommodation page.
