Booking & rates
How do I get the best rate?
Book direct at book-directonline.com. Direct bookings carry our best-rate guarantee — the same room is never cheaper on a booking site — and there are no booking fees or third-party change penalties.
What is your cancellation policy?
Standard bookings can be changed or cancelled free of charge up until 2 pm property time on or before 48 hours before arrival. After that, a one-night accommodation fee applies; no-shows are charged in full. Non-Refundable rates can't be changed or cancelled. Long-stay 7+ day rates carry a 2-night cancellation fee inside 48 hours; long-stay 30+ day rates carry a 7-night fee. Group and meeting bookings are handled case-by-case under the booking contract. Third-party bookings follow that party's terms.
Do you offer weekly or monthly rates?
Yes — long-stay rates are available for eligible stays of 7+ nights. Email us with your dates and we'll send the best available rate. Companies and agencies can also set up direct billing through a Travellers Group corporate account, which covers all five group properties across regional QLD and NSW.
Can my company set up an account with direct billing?
Yes. Cityville is part of Travellers Group, so one corporate account covers all five Travellers properties — negotiated rates, direct billing and consolidated invoicing. Email bookings@cityville.com.au with your company details and we'll send the application.
Can I get an invoice or receipt for work travel?
Yes — a tax invoice is issued for every stay, showing the property's ABN and your booking details. If you need a specific cost code, PO reference, or PTSS-compliant invoicing (for patient travel subsidy), tell us at booking and we'll set the invoice up that way.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, EFTPOS and cash. A credit card is pre-authorised at check-in for incidentals. Photo ID is required at check-in.
Can someone else pay for my room?
Yes — we accept third-party credit-card authority forms. Email us at bookings@cityville.com.au and we'll send the form ahead of your stay. Corporate-account guests skip this entirely via direct billing.
Why book direct instead of a booking site?
Three reasons: the best-rate guarantee (never cheaper elsewhere), the most flexible cancellation terms, and you deal with the people who'll actually look after you — requests in the notes reach our front desk, not a call centre.
Arrival & check-in
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability — message us on the day and we'll do our best. If you're arriving late, see «late arrival» below.
Can I check in late at night?
Yes. Reception is open Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am–3:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am–1:00 pm. After hours, we send you an SMS with instructions for lockbox key collection. Tell us your expected arrival time when you book so we can have everything ready.
What if I arrive before 2 pm?
Early check-in may be possible — it depends on whether your room is ready. Message reception in the morning of arrival and we'll let you know. Otherwise, you're welcome to leave your bags with us and explore Quay Street and the riverside precinct on foot.
Do you store luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Yes — complimentary luggage storage at reception during opening hours. Useful if you're arriving early or have a late flight out of ROK after check-out.
Rooms & facilities
Do all apartments really have full kitchens?
Most do — not all. Deluxe Studio and Twin Studio Apartment have kitchenettes (fridge, microwave, kettle/toaster, tea + coffee, cookware basics). All other room types — 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-bedroom apartments and the 4-bedroom riverfront — have full kitchens: cooktop, oven, full-size fridge, dishwasher, full cookware and crockery. If self-catering for a week or more matters to your stay, book a full-kitchen apartment.
Which apartments have a washer and dryer?
The larger apartments (2-, 3-, 4-bedroom configurations) include in-room laundry. Studios and 1-bedrooms use the on-site guest laundry. Tell us at booking if in-room laundry is important and we'll match you to the right room.
Is there a desk or workspace in the room?
Yes — every room has a workspace suitable for a laptop and a couple of papers. Paired with free fast NBN WiFi, the rooms are set up for a real working stay, not just an overnight.
Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Yes — air-conditioning in every room. Essential in a Rockhampton summer.
What TVs are in the rooms?
Flat-screen TVs with satellite channels in every room. We don't currently offer in-room Netflix or other streaming services — bring your own device and cast or use the room WiFi.
Is there a pool?
Yes — outdoor swimming pool open to all guests, plus a covered BBQ area and a large grassed area. Useful for families during sporting carnivals and weekend stays.
Is WiFi free and is it actually fast?
Yes — free NBN WiFi throughout, no data limits. Handles video calls, streaming and remote-work loads comfortably.
Are the rooms quiet?
We'll do our best — tell us "quiet room please, rear-facing if possible" in the booking notes and we'll allocate accordingly. (Specific quiet-room mapping pending front-desk update.)
Do you have accessible rooms?
Contact us before booking with the specific accessibility requirements (step-free access, grab rails, roll-in shower, etc.) and we'll match you to the right room. Cityville is a multi-level property; not every room is step-free.
Can you provide a cot or extra bed?
Yes — cots and rollaway beds are available on request. Subject to room type capacity. Mention it when you book so we can have it set up at check-in.
Is smoking allowed?
All rooms are non-smoking. Outdoor smoking only in designated areas; ask reception. A cleaning fee applies if smoking is detected in a room.
Which room should I pick for a longer stay?
For stays of a week or more, an apartment with a full kitchen and in-room laundry is the practical pick. Tell us how many adults / children and we'll match the room type — the 1-bedroom is the typical "long stay solo" choice; 2-bedrooms suit couples or a parent + child(ren); 3- and 4-bedroom apartments are for families and project crews.
Parking
Is parking free? What about trailers and work vehicles?
Secure on-site parking is free, with some undercover spots (not every booking gets undercover — first-come on the day). Off-street parking is available for trailers, boats and large work vehicles — ask reception on arrival and we'll point you to the right spot. Tell us in your booking notes if you're towing or driving a work vehicle.
Can I park a caravan or motorhome on site?
Smaller campervans usually fit in the off-street area. Full-size motorhomes and caravans typically need a powered park — we're happy to point you to the nearest. Send a message with your dimensions before booking and we'll let you know what fits.
Is the parking secure?
Yes — the parking area is gated and well-lit. We still recommend not leaving valuables visible in any vehicle overnight.
Working stays
Do you do weekly rates for project crews or rotations?
Yes. Long-stay rates available for 7+ night stays, with structured corporate billing via Travellers Group accounts. We host resource-sector rotations, defence exercise teams, infrastructure project crews and hospital locums regularly — tell us your rotation pattern (e.g. 2 on / 2 off) and we'll hold the same room for return visits.
Can extensions be handled night-by-night?
Yes — subject to availability we'll always try. Tell reception by 10 am the day before checkout and we'll either hold your existing room or move you within the same category. For sold-out periods (Beef Australia, Rocky Nationals, Show week) book the whole window upfront if you can.
Is there an early opener for breakfast before work?
Coffee Society Rockhampton and The Two Professors in the CBD both open early for takeaway coffee and quick breakfast (from ~5:30–6:30 am). 24-hour fuel + snacks at BP North Rockhampton, Ampol Foodary South Rockhampton and Ampol Foodary North Rockhampton Truckstop.
Where do I park a work ute, trailer or boat?
Off-street parking on site — ask reception on arrival. If your vehicle is over standard height or has a long trailer, message us before arrival with the dimensions and we'll confirm the best spot.
Do you take block bookings for crews?
Yes. Email bookings@cityville.com.au with crew size, dates and rotation pattern — we'll set up a held block at a negotiated rate, direct-bill via your company account, and keep the same rooms for return rotations.
Families, groups & events
Where do sporting carnival families stay?
Our 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom apartments with full kitchens are the carnival family pick — self-cater, debrief by the pool, BBQ for the team dinner. We're within easy drive of every major Rockhampton venue (Showgrounds, Browne Park, Victoria Park, Callaghan Park). Book at least 6–8 weeks ahead for state titles and rep weekends.
How early should I book for Beef Australia 2027 or carnival weekends?
Beef Australia 2027 (2–8 May 2027) — book as early as possible. Accommodation citywide books out 12+ months ahead. Rockynats (2–4 April 2027) and state-level carnivals book out 8–12 weeks ahead. Rocky Show is local-heavy so 4–6 weeks is typically enough.
Do you take group bookings for teams?
Yes — email bookings@cityville.com.au with team size, dates and any specific room requests (adjoining rooms, ground-floor, in-room laundry). We'll hold a block and quote a group rate.
Can families use the pool and BBQ area?
Yes — both are available to all guests. The covered BBQ and large grassed area are particularly good for sporting carnival families doing team meals.
Is breakfast available on site?
Not currently — but every apartment has a kitchen or kitchenette, and Coffee Society and The Two Professors do reliable early breakfast in the CBD (under 2 minutes' drive). We're happy to point you to the right option.

Can I extend my stay night by night while we wait on the hospital?
Yes — we work with families navigating uncertain hospital stays. Tell reception your situation and we'll do our best to keep you in the same room as availability allows. Long-stay rates kick in from 7 nights.

Multiple boat ramps along the Fitzroy in Rockhampton itself. Are you flood-affected in the wet season?
Cityville is on the western edge of the CBD, one block back from the Fitzroy. Major Fitzroy floods do affect parts of the river precinct, but Cityville itself has historically continued to operate. If you're booking during the wet season (Dec–Mar) and concerned, message us — we'll give you the honest current state.
